Document Preparation & Sending
What file formats does EzSignly support for upload? (e.g., PDF, DOCX, DOC)
EzSignly supports most standard file formats, including PDF & Word documents. There is no need to convert your files before uploading. Simply drag or upload the file from your device, and the platform handles the rest. This makes it easy to work with contracts, agreements, consent forms, or any other business document without worrying about compatibility.
How do I add signature, date, or text fields to my document?
After uploading your document into the template editor, you will see a Widgets panel on the left side. From there, drag and drop the fields you need onto the document. Available widgets include Signature, Initials, Name, Date, Text Input, Checkbox, and Image. If your document has multiple signers, you can color-code each signer's fields to avoid confusion. Use the Preview button to check placement before saving.
Can I send a single document to multiple recipients at once?
Yes. EzSignly's Bulk Send feature allows you to send the same document to hundreds of recipients simultaneously. Each recipient gets their own private signing link, their own copy, a separate audit trail, and an individual completion status. You can upload a recipient list using an Excel file and track every signing request in real time from your dashboard.
How do I set a specific signing order for my recipients?
EzSignly supports sequential signing. When adding recipients to your document, arrange them in the exact order you want signatures collected. The platform will automatically notify each signer only when it is their turn. Your dashboard gives you real-time visibility into who has signed and who is next, so no step gets skipped or repeated.
Is there a file size limit for the documents I upload?
EzSignly supports standard business document sizes for upload. Most contracts, agreements, and forms upload without any issues. If you are working with unusually large files or need to send high volumes of documents, the Business Pro plan offers flexible usage limits designed for enterprise-level operations. For specific limits, contact support at support@ezsignly.com.
The Signing Experience
Do my recipients need an EzSignly account to sign a document?
No. Recipients do not need an EzSignly account. When you send a document for signing, each recipient receives a secure email with a signing link. They click the link, review the document, and sign directly from their browser. No login, no downloads, no installation required.
Can I sign a document using my smartphone or tablet?
Yes. EzSignly is fully browser-based and works on any device, including desktops, tablets, and smartphones. Recipients can open the signing link from their email, review the document, and complete their signature from any device without needing to install an app.
How do I 'Draw' or 'Type' my signature on the screen?
When you open a document to sign, click on the signature field. EzSignly gives you three options: draw your signature using your mouse or finger (on touch devices), type your name and select from generated signature styles, or upload an image of your handwritten signature. Once placed, your signature is securely attached to the document.
What should I do if I received a document but want to decline signing?
If you receive a document and choose not to sign, you can decline the signing request directly from the signing page. The sender will be notified through their dashboard and the Recent Activity feed that the document was declined. This keeps the process transparent for all parties involved.
Can I save my progress and finish signing a long document later?
The signing process on EzSignly is designed to be completed in a single session, as most documents take only a few minutes. If you close the browser before finishing, the document remains in a pending state. You can return to it using the same signing link from your email and pick up where you left off, as long as the document has not expired.
Post-Signing & Security
How do I download the final executed copy of a signed document?
Once all parties have signed, the finalized document is securely stored in your EzSignly dashboard. You can access it anytime from the Documents section, view the completed file, and download it as a PDF. Both the sender and the signer receive access to the fully executed copy.
What is an 'Audit Trail,' and how do I access it for my files?
An audit trail is a detailed, timestamped record of every action taken on a document, from creation and viewing to signing and completion. It logs who opened the file, when they reviewed it, and when they signed. You can access the audit trail from the Documents section in your dashboard. Each completed document includes its own verifiable audit trail for accountability and compliance.
Are signatures made on EzSignly legally binding in my country?
Yes. EzSignly complies with major electronic signature laws worldwide, including the ESIGN Act and UETA (United States), eIDAS Regulation (European Union), and the IT Act, 2000 (India). As long as the signer's identity is verified, the document has an audit trail, and the file is timestamped and tamper-proof, the signature is considered legally binding and enforceable.
Can I void or cancel a document after I've already sent it?
Yes. From your EzSignly dashboard, you can manage documents that are still pending. If a document has not been fully signed, you can void or cancel it before completion. The recipients will be notified, and the document status will update in your dashboard. Once a document has been fully executed, it becomes a finalized legal record and cannot be voided from the platform.
How can I verify that a signed document hasn't been tampered with?
EzSignly uses tamper-evident technology to protect every signed document. Once signatures are collected, the document is encrypted both in transit and at rest. Any alteration made after signing is automatically detectable. Each document also carries a full audit trail with timestamps and signer activity, giving you verifiable proof that the file remains unchanged since execution.
